Aside from skills and experience, they must own the right tools and know how to use them for each job. A handyman has three core set of tools – basic hand tools, power tools, and safety gears. The need to use each set varies on the job the handyman will perform.

The basic hand tools are the common tools found on a handyman’s toolbox, like:

Freelancing is an ideal choice because you can manage your own time. But if you are aiming for a higher profit, starting a business is the option to choose.

You can start your handyman business by registering your business, get liability insurance and obtain ABN (Australian Business Number).

Sounds intimidating? If so, you can choose to franchise. The good thing about franchising is it has a much higher success rate than in starting your own business.

Not to mention, much affordable. This is due to the franchised business’ established brand reputation, marketing strategy, and audience that can help you and your business grow.
