- Get Leads: We send you Leads based on your postcode, work area, trade and skills. You can view these leads it the HIREtrades App, website, or through email alerts.
- Accept Leads: Each Lead includes the Consumer’s job description and Consumer’s contact details. Browse the leads and Accept those most likely to convert into work.
- Get in touch with the Consumer: Once you have Accepted the Lead, you will be able to exchange messages using our chat feature – just use the app or log in to our website to get started. It is an easy way to kick off a conversation. We will also give you the Consumer’s mobile number and email address so you can contact them directly to find out more about the job and quote. Also your profile page, and contact details are sent to the Consumer.
- Get reviewed: After the work is complete, ask your Consumer to rate you based on quality, reliability and value. This will help you build your reputation and win more work.
To sign up with HIREtrades you must provide us with the following:
Business information
- Name of your business
- Your business address (where your business operates from)
- Your ABN
Personal information
- Your first name and last name
- Your contact details (phone number and email address)
Payment details
- Details of your valid debit or credit card (to allow you to Accept Leads). We need this information so we can prove that you ‘are who you say you are’ and help us to keep the dodgy operators away from the platform.
Each time you Accept a Lead, we will pass your business information to the Consumer so that they can conduct further checks on you and your business before they hire you.
HIREtrades must be confident that you are who you say you are as we are making an introduction between Consumers and Tradies. For this reason you must be able to prove your business and personal details at all times whilst being a member of HIREtrades.
Leads are the Job requests that Consumers post on our site. We sort these requests by postcode, trade and skill type and then pass the details along to our Tradies.
You can view leads in a variety of ways – it’s easy!
- Main Website: Visit our homepage at www.hiretrades.com.au log-in. Select Leads from the menu and you can view Current Leads
- Mobile App: Download our HIREtrades mobile app for your iPhone or Android smartphone. You view Leads in the same manner as the website.
The Leads you receive are determined by your postcode, work area and trade you selected when you signed up. You can change these settings at any time by logging in to your account and making changes on your Profile page
Leads are sent to you based on your postcode, work area and trade/skill settings. If these are not set correctly or your work area is set to be very small, there may not be many matching Leads for us to send you. You can change these settings, and expand your work area, at any time by logging in to your account and making changes on your Profile page
Yes. To remove a Lead you’re not interested in from your Lead list, click the ‘Decline’ link. The lead will no longer appear in your Lead list.
Simply hit the ‘Accept’ button for the Lead. This can be done from the website or mobile app.
You will be charged immediately if you are on a ‘pay per quote’ membership, or if you are on a ‘Package’ one credit will be deducted.
When you Accept a Lead, we will give you the Consumer’s preferred method of contact so you may contact them directly to discover more about the job and quote.
We also send your profile page, ratings and contact details to the Consumer.
A lead may be Accepted by up to three Tradies, so contact the Consumer as soon as possible to introduce yourself and increase your chances of winning the work. With a one-in-three chance you should enjoy a good success rate.
It is not possible to guarantee that all Consumers who post jobs on HIREtrades have a high level of intent to carry out the work and are not just doing so out of curiosity. To counter this, we are constantly updating our forms to help give you as much information on each job as possible.
To view all the Leads you have Accepted, log in to your account or launch the mobile app and select ‘Quotes’ from the menu. Here you will see a list of Leads you are currently quoting on or have quoted on.
They can be restored to the ‘Current’ Leads at any time.
To Archive a Quote select Quotes from the menu and click the Archive button.
To view all the Quotes that you have Archived, log-in to your account and select Quotes from the dashboard menu. Click the ‘Archive’ tab to view and access your list of Archived Quotes.

When you Accept a Lead, the Consumer will list their preferred method of contact. This can include one or more of the following possible ways to get in touch:
- Message – this is available through the HIREtrades App, or when you’re logged in to the website. It works similarly to SMS, where you can message the Consumer who posted the job. It is an easy and familiar way to get in touch with Consumers.
- Phone – if they do not pick up then always leave a quick voicemail, or send a text message, to introduce yourself.
- Email – you will receive their email address too if you would prefer to get in touch using that.
Get in touch with the Consumer as soon as possible to introduce yourself and increase the chances of winning the work.
You can send a chat message to Consumers by using the HIREtrades App, or by logging in to your account at www.hiretrades.com.au. This is linked directly to the account the Consumer has set up with us, so should be more effective if their contact details have changed.
That said, we make many efforts to ensure the quality of our Leads, and that the contact details are valid, but on rare occasions there are sometimes issues. If the contact details we have given you result in an email bounce-back message, a disconnected phone line or belong to an individual that did not post the job, please contact us and lodge a support ticket.
HIREtrades is an introductory service that aims to connect quality Tradies with potential Consumers. We cannot guarantee how a Consumer will behave after posting a job or if they will accept your attempt to contact them, and offer you a fair opportunity to quote. We have found that this allows us to charge you considerably less than if we operated a purely commission-based fee.
For this reason, we encourage you not to rely on an individual lead for the success of your next job. Our Tradies report that, on average, they win 1 in every 3 leads they purchase and make significantly more than their money back in trade value. Therefore, you should always evaluate your success rate over several leads and not each individual one.
It’s also important to remember that any time you are able to make contact with a new Consumer and discuss your services, you have made a valuable connection that may turn into future work, even if the current job does not proceed.
If you are unhappy with the HIREtrades service you must contact us and lodge a support ticket and outline in detail the reasons for your grievance.
Ratings serve as your word-of-mouth online and help you build your reputation. Every time you purchase a Lead, we send your profile and ratings to the Consumer. The more positive ratings you have, the easier it will be to win more work.
To request a rating, log in to your account or launch the mobile app, find the Job in your Quotes list and go to Messages. At the top of the page click the ‘Request Review’ button
We will then automatically send an email on your behalf to the Consumer asking them to give your business a (hopefully good) rating.
Additionally, you can obtain additional reviews from your Customers, Partners and/or other Stakeholders. To request these log-in to your HIREtrades dashboard and go to your Profile Page. From here you can send an email or copy/paste a link.
All of your ratings are stored on your HIREtrades profile page. Your ratings score is sent to the Consumer every time you Accept a Lead.
To see an overview of the ratings you have received, log in to www.hiretrades.com.au and navigate to your HIREtrades dashboard’s ‘Profile’ page.
If you receive a rating that is not as good as you expected, we suggest that you contact the Consumer directly to address their concerns. Most disputes can be resolved easily and Consumers can update their rating at any time. If this fails, or the rating is particularly unfair, factually incorrect or slanderous, please contact us and lodge a support ticket for us to investigate.

We make it easy to receive Reviews from Customers that you may have outside of HIREtrades. Simply log-in and navigate to your Profile page. In the Reviews section either click the email icon (for an auto-generated email) or send the link to your Customers, partners and/or stakeholders requesting they provide you a Review.
A unique profile page for your Business is is provided by HIREtrades absolutely FREE.
This page showcases your ratings as well as any Business information, certifications and photos of your work that you provide.
Your profile page is sent to the Consumer every time you Accept a Lead and we also ensure that it appears near the top of the list when someone searches for your Business name on sites like Google.
We’ve found that Tradies with a detailed profile incorporating full business descriptions, photos showcasing work and good reviews are significantly more likely to win work.
To update/change your Profile page, log-in to www.hiretrades.com.au and navigate to your HIREtrades dashboard’s ‘Profile’ page.

To upload photos of your past work, log-in to www.hiretrades.com.au and navigate to your HIREtrades dashboard’s ‘Profile’ page and go to the Gallery section. The photos you upload will displayed on your profile page.
Log-in to www.hiretrades.com.au and navigate to your HIREtrades dashboard’s ‘Profile’ page. There is a button at the top that also enables you to “View Public Profile”. This is what your Consumers will see. Many of our smaller businesses without websites use this to promote themselves on-line.

From here you can choose how you wish to receive Notifications from HIREtrades – email, sms or push notification (from your App).
You can Accept Leads using one of the following billing methods;
- Pay As You Go – when you click the ‘Accept’ button on a Lead (on either the HIREtrades website or mobile app) your account will be charged for that lead.
- Packages – You can pre-purchase packages of quotes that will can save over 60% (depending on selection)
When you click the ‘Accept’ button on a Lead (on either the HIREtrades website or mobile app) your account be reduced by one credit.
If you think you have been overcharged for any reason or want to query a payment, please contact us and lodge a support ticket for us to investigate.
To accept leads you must be a member (unless you are part of a special offer – such as a free trial at commencement) you will be charged a low annual fee. To view fees log-in to www.hiretrades.com.au and navigate to your HIREtrades dashboard and select ‘Financial’ then select ‘Packages’
Membership covers the costs for items such as Lead Generation, Business Directory Listing, Profile Page, Business Reviews, Promotions on search engines (Google), Account Management, Administration.
You can pre-purchase packages of quotes that will can save over 60% (depending on selection). A Package will automatically renew when your credits have been exhausted. You can upgrade/downgrade your package at anytime.
If you do not want your Package to automatically renew simply change your selection, before the credits are exhausted, to ‘Pay as You Go’. When your credits are then all used up you will then pay on a per quote basis.

As per our terms and conditions, we do not offer a refunds on individual lead purchases. This is because we cannot guarantee nor adequately enforce that each potential Consumer you contact will accept your quote or select you to carry out their job.
